Acapulco is in southern Mexico and is 250 miles south of Mexico city.
All the big chain hotels are located there. There are low cost economic hotels to the 5 Star Mayan Palace.
    Costs vary from $ 10.00 to $ 500.00 usd a night.
There is a stretch of the coastal road in the bay that has numerous Bars and clubs.
Cliff drivers are a big attraction with day and evening shows.
There are donkeys over on the island of Roqueta that drink beer and get drunk although it is rumored they died trying to swim to the Sayonara Bar to make Last Call.
All the things one would expect to find in tourist attractions like Fishing excursions and Bay Cruises. Planet Hollywood,Palladiumm ,Senor Frogs and Barbaroja to name a couple. Cici water park for the kids and a Swim with a Dolphin. Parasailing is still big.
Two Wal Mart super centers and a mall called La Isla out near the airport.
Fuerte San Diego is across from the Port and is a Museo

LOL I think the donkeys are gone…In addition to Jim’s comments i would like to add that despite the night life not being as good as past years the clubs are some of the best in the world and at some point in time revert to their dominant form.

Lagoon tour at Pie de la cuesta or tres palos is always a nice day.

City tour- Hotel Los Flamingos, Casa Blanca, Zocalo, La Quebrada (divers) Chapel of peace and fort of San diego.

Hotels definately for all travelers budget to hi end…I prefer the midbay area and the Fiesta Americana Villas and Emporio are the 2 best and reasonably priced. many are located as these 2 are right on the beach surrounded by many restaurants and bars to have some fun in.

Other hotels Crowne Plaza, Playa Suites, Malibu, Grand (former Hyatt) and many beachfront condos.Hotels outside of the city Grand Mayan, Princess, Pierre Marquis, El Canto (resort), Las Brisas (resort), Banyon tree (resort)
